VEE.NZ Forum 2026 - Postponed

The VEE.NZ Board met this morning and significant discussion was generated around the Industry and Tutor forum that is to run in July. It was noted that attendee registration was low and that the registrations were predominantly provider representatives with few industry or ISB. It was also noted that there had been very little activity from industry around sponsorship, and with rising costs generally and because of the fuel crisis, VEE.NZ would not be able to commit to the additional costs – as you can imagine this is very disappointing. So, with this in mind the Board has agreed to postpone the Forum from July 2026 to the same time in 2027.

It is hoped that by this time the fuel situation should have righted itself, and there will be greater enthusiasm for travel. The Forum is very important to us, and with a general election coming up it is important that VEE.NZ advocates with ministers of all parties so that we can get a good commitment to vocational education, the qualifications and the Forum in 2027. As engineering educators this will be the space for engagement with each other, industry and the politicians that shape our environment. It is place for discussion, networking, research and professional development. We have our fingers figurately crossed for a speedy resolution to the fuel crises.
